New York is the greatest city i have ever been to…
On a sunny evening in June we decided to go on a city trip. Destination: New York!! My sister absolutely insisted on taking my wheelchair with me. I am not a big wheelchair fan but I had to…. I have my own but I only use it only once a year to go to a local festival. Okay, I took the chair.
I got so excited and could not wait to book this trip. We went to go to Excellence Travel organise everything for us.
We left from Zaventem to JFKNew York, it was my first trip in business class and after a vegetarian meal I watched a movie and i fell asleep.
Arriving at JFK was so impressive, all the big airplanes and all of the people. I was just so happy being part of it. And finally I arrived in New York!
We stayed at this beautiful hotel THE LANGHAM in the centre of Manhattan, on Fifth avenue. The room was beautiful and big, with an amazing view.
We did a lot of sightseeing with the busses from TOPVIEW. I really recommend it to anyone visiting NYC! You are sitting high and it’s just a perfect way to see the whole city.
The views were so spectacular and impressive, you really feel so little near all those high buildings. I was very impressed by this old churches just in between all the buildings.
New York is so big, first we went downtown, two days later, uptown.
What a city!!!
What I loved was the views from the helicopter. Flying above The Statue of Liberty was just wonderful.
I was just so impressed when we went to the World Trade Centre. Seeing just one of the towers was emotional. I got tears in my eyes at Ground Zero when I saw the names of all the people who were killed on 9/11/2001.
One day , on our way back to the hotel, it was in Soho, we walked into this amazing guy who was selling his self-made pop-art. We had a little chat with him and we bought 2 of his paintings. @conumerart
Americans are just so friendly, polite and helpful. I like their enthousiasme, their excitement and their kindness. So when we said we are Belgians, they immediately said we had to win the Football World Cup! So funny.
