I’ve been a vegetarian for almost 20 years now. I made this choice because I always wanted to be healthy and because I’ve never really liked meat and fish anyways, so this wasn’t a very hard choice to make. I do watch out to get my daily doses of proteins, fats, iron and vitamins through vegetables, seeds, legumes, nuts and fruits. I like composed salads, fresh vegetable soups, bulgur, rice, quinoa and potatoes. I never drink coffee, only water, cranberry juice and soy milk. It was a problem when I used to go to the restaurant before, but nowadays the message to eat healthy food and less meat seems to have reached a great number of chefs and restaurants.
The only thing that might not be very healthy but I still love so much is a slice of bread with a good layer of Nutella!
